I was born and raised in Massachusetts, USA, and moved to New York City to attend New York University, where I received my BFA (Bachelor of Fine Arts). I spent most of the next twenty years in NYC working on the technical side of theatre, film, television and rock-and-roll. In 2004, I came to Scotland on holiday and met the man who later became my husband. After moving to Edinburgh I needed to find a new career, so I trained as an EFL teacher. The best thing about my job is all the amazing people I meet and get to know through teaching English. I know that it takes a lot of courage to leave your country and move to another, and I think you need to be pretty fearless to do so in order to study the local language. I think I’m very lucky to spend my days with such interesting and brave people from all over the world.
