We hope that you will also have a chance to explore outside Edinburgh during your stay.  Scotland does not have a good reputation for its weather but it is always surprising!

If you want to see more of the countryside it is a good idea to travel north or west to the islands.  You can search for a monster in Loch Ness, explore ancient castles on Skye, cross the sea to remote islands, visit pre-historic settlements in Orkney or climb a mountain just about anywhere.  There is so much to do and it is easy to organise from Edinburgh.  Just take a bus tour for 1 or more days or go at your own pace and hire a car.
